Have you noticed the images on this and other internet web sites are muddy or unclear? AOL has a setting that, by default, is installed to speed up graphics download at a significant loss in image quality. The time saved is minimal. You may want to change the settings by following these simple instructions:

Choose your AOL version, after following the instructions close this window to go back to Gables 79 Reunion.

AOL v.4+
AOL v.6+

AOL v.4+: Go to 'My AOL' on the tool bar, then click on 'Preferences'.



Select 'WWW' from the Preferences dialog box as shown below.



To view true-color JPEG images in their normal (best) quality, switch to the 'Web Graphics' tab and un-check 'Use compressed graphics' as shown below, then click 'Apply'.



Now you should clear your cache to rid your hard drive of any viewed .art image files. Switch to the 'General' tab press the 'Delete Files' button to delete your 'Temporary Internet Files'



Place a check in the box then click 'OK' to confirm the deletion of your Temporary Internet Files.



Click 'OK' and re-start AOL or select the 'Refresh' button in the AOL browser to reload the web page with full graphic image quality.

Close Window



AOL v.6 Go to 'Settings' on the tool bar and click 'Preferences'



Select 'Internet Properties' from the Preferences dialog box as shown below.





To view true-color JPEG images in their normal (best) quality, switch to the 'Web Graphics' tab and select 'Never compress graphics' on the 'Web Graphics' tab as shown below, then click 'Apply'.



Now you should clear your cache to rid your hard drive of any viewed .art image files. Switch to the 'General' tab. Look for 'Temporary Internet Files', click on 'Delete Files'. A new window will open and it will ask you if you want to delete all temporary internet files, make sure the box has a check in it then click 'OK'.



Click 'OK' again and re-start AOL or select the 'Refresh' button in the AOL browser to reload the web page with full graphic image quality.
